USCGA Class of 1970 50th Anniversary Yearbook

(go here for 2021 Yearbook Supplement)

I am blown away by the diversity of lives lived and the amazing accomplishments of everyone. It has significantly reinforced my pride in being a part of this great class. – Ed Dennehy

This Yearbook will enrich us all when we read how our classmates have made significant service contributions, raised families, bolstered communities and simply had fun. – Chris Desmond

Dave Maloney and I are happy to announce that our USCGA Class of 1970 50th Anniversary yearbook is now available for purchase.

The yearbook contains not only 104 classmate biographies, but several other sections as well including VIP letters. We have received congratulations from the Acting Secretary of DHS, the Commandant, the Academy Superintendent, and the President of the Academy Alumni Association. We also my favorite—a nice letter from our Cadet Class Advisor, Dave Sandell. There is a section devoted to classmates who have passed away, several of which have bios provided by spouses or other family members. There are also sections on what representatives from our class did for the Class of 2020 as part of the Link-In-the-Chain and Golden Legacy programs; where the Academy and Alumni Association spent our Class Gift funds; and, since our 2020 Reunion was cancelled, pictures from the 50th Anniversary Virtual Toast held on June 3, 2020. There are sections on Academy Life; Where We Came From; Graduation; Graduation Awards; and First Assignments. The yearbook includes everyone, even those from whom we did not get a bio. For them, their 1970 Tide Rips photo and write-up suffices nicely.

There are three versions of the Yearbook available: softcover with black and white content, softcover with full-color content, and hardcover with full-color content. All versions have a full-color cover. See below for pricing and links for ordering.

I am confident that you will find the yearbook a wonderful legacy to our great class. There is so much to read – what each and every one accomplished, what we did for our Country, the Service, Community, and, most importantly, our family, classmates, and friends. Dave and I enjoyed every minute of bringing it all together for everyone. We are sure you will treasure having the book in your library. Please share it with family and friends. They are welcome to purchase a copy as well. — Ed Labuda.
